THE
HISTORY OF COYT a. Rains real estate The
history of Coyt A. Rains Real Estate began in 1947 when Coyt A. Rains was
licensed as a real estate salesman by The State of Ohio. Mr. Rains became
the manager of Lewis A. White Real Estate in 1950. Lewis A. White was a
multi-office real estate company based in Cincinnati. Mr.
White retired in 1964 and Mr. Rains purchased the Hamilton office. The
company name was changed to Coyt A. Rains Real Estate in 1965. Mr.
Rains’ philosophy was, don’t work for the commission work for the best
interest of the client. He always said if you have enough satisfied
clients the commissions will be there. He also stressed that we should
always treat the client the way we would want to be treated if we were the
client. After
Mr. Rains acquired ownership of the company he added an insurance agency
to the business. Many of our current clients began their relationship with
us as insurance customers. From
1950 till 1969 the office was located in the Rentschler Building in
downtown Hamilton. For a short time in 1969 and early 1970 the company was
operated out of Mr. Rains’ home while a new office was being remodeled.
In 1970 the office was moved to its current location at 289 North Erie
Highway, Hamilton, Ohio. Coyt
F. Rains, the current owner/broker of Coyt A. Rains Real Estate, joined
the firm in 1972. Coyt Jr. concentrated on the real estate side of the
business while Coyt Sr. concentrated on growing the insurance side of the
business. The insurance agency grew to become a significant part of the
company. In the mid 80’s, when Coyt Sr.’s thoughts turned to
retirement, he sold the insurance agency so Coyt Jr. could concentrate on
the real estate business. Coyt
Sr. retired in 1985 and Coyt Jr. led the company into the age of cell
phone, faxes, computers, PDA’s and digital cameras. The company and the
way we do business is drastically different now than it was when Coyt Sr.
joined Lewis A. White in 1950. But our philosophy and attitude have not
changed. We still treat the client the way we would want to be treated if
we were the client. And we work for the client not the commission. |
